Our Six Core Priorities

  • Local-Led

We empower communities to lead their own development — building with them, not for them.

  • Long-Term Impact

We invest in projects that deliver generational change, not just short-term fixes.

  • Self-Sustaining

Our goal is independence, not dependence — projects that can stand, grow, and multiply without ongoing external aid.

  • Prioritising the Poor

We ensure that at least 30% of school places are completely free for orphans and the most vulnerable — because no child should be left behind.

  • Integrated Development

Education is never isolated. We connect learning with faith, family, nutrition, and wellbeing.

  • Leadership at Every Level

From schoolchildren to senior pastors, we invest in raising strong, servant-hearted leaders for tomorrow.

We’re currently exploring a powerful new partnership in Northern Uganda with Safe Haven Christian Schools — a locally led education initiative born out of deep community need and a vision to reach the most vulnerable children.

Safe Haven Junior School will provide nursery and primary education to over 1,000 children in Agago District, one of Uganda’s most disadvantaged regions. With a model that combines academic excellence, faith, school farming, and sustainability — this project aligns perfectly with our values.

In the heart of Northern Uganda, Agago District faces some of the nation’s toughest challenges — high dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, and extreme poverty. Education is often out of reach, especially for girls and vulnerable children. In response, WayMaker is partnering with Safe Haven Christian Schools to establish Safe Haven Junior School — a nursery and primary school designed to serve over 1,000 children with quality, holistic education.

This locally led initiative will provide a nurturing, faith-based environment focused on literacy, life skills, and long-term development. Built on 10 hectares of land, the school will include classrooms, sanitation facilities, a library, a farm training centre, and staff housing — all designed for sustainability and scalability. A minimum of 30% of places will be reserved for orphans and the most vulnerable, completely free of charge.

The total project budget is £187,842 over five years. We’re currently seeking £90,000 to fund the initial phase: constructing classrooms, restrooms, water access, and basic infrastructure.

This is more than a school. It’s a bold step towards breaking cycles of poverty, empowering families, and raising the next generation of leaders.
